FAQ

Another week down! It has been a very busy week.
Bec and Mike kindly hosted Christmas last Saturday, so that was my first big social outing, and was super fun! They prepared rotisserie chicken, which has got to be the best way to cook chicken ever. Afterwards, we watched Celebrities Read Mean Tweets, which is the funniest thing ever. On Monday, Greg's parents took my family out for lunch to The Buttery, which was super nice. That was my first culinary outing and I only disgraced myself with the mess a little bit :) Cozza came around on Tuesday bearing food from Elixir Cafe, where the lunches are as good as the breakfast! Priscilla paid a visit on Wednesday and we had a fun time commiserating, and I didn't make her 2 year old cry once. Yesterday, I made brownies (!) and Heather and Alison paid a visit to update me on all the office gossip from the Christmas parties. I am so lucky to have so many awesome people in my corner! You guys are the best!

Now I have encountered quite a few people so I can compile a list of frequently asked questions....

How do you sleep?
I sleep well! Waking up is the hard part! Now that I am laying on my side, getting to sleep isn't a problem. Though I wake up with such a crick in the neck. I am so looking forward to rolling my neck from side to side in 10 weeks time.

How do you shower?
I don't! But don't worry, I'm no scrub. I do spray down my lower half with an extendable shower head, and sponge bath the rest. I also try to pass a alcohol wipe underneath the vest as much as possible as well. So you can probably sit in the same car as me. Just don't try to get a good whiff of that fresh lamb's wool odour. Yet another occasion where no sense of smell is an advantage.

Does it hurt?
Not at all. Even when I walk into doorways. Which still happens. Occasionally.

What do you do all day?
I had good intentions of watching the entirety of The Wire, but turns out I don't actually have it. We have a very limited bigpond account so I am relying on the kindness of others bringing their hard drives over. But I did find a stash of several seasons of Law and Order: SVU & Criminal Intent, so there is that.

Can you work?
I have applied for a few medical/transcription jobs which can be done from home, but turns out there is a lot more to it than just typing fast (which I am pretty good at). And I would like to know where the jobs where you can "earn $3000 a week sitting on the couch" are at, 'cause I would like one of those, thanks.

What's Greg doing?
Finishing up work in Darwin for the year! Today is his last day, and he shall start driving back to Perth on the weekend. His friend Jamie has flown up to join him. They are going to do some of the things we were planning, like camp at Big Horse Creek in Gregory National Park, and watch Wolf Creek at Wolf Creek. I am really happy he gets to do these things, and particularly happy I don't have to do the latter with him.

Questions from strangers
What happened to you?
Freak waterslide accident.
Alternatively, while riding on an escalator: Freak escalator accident (that might have only happened in my imagination but OH was that funny.)

Will update more answers as things occur to me, but I think those are the main ones covered.
